i feel against the 3 Strikes system. i fail to see why everyone has to suffer for what one person did. Kris Kieft Eltham High School
Kris, this is communal project and also a communal effort by all. We all need to focus on making the right choices when we are working online. I also think that we won't even have one strike. I have superb faith in your classmates that they will make the right choices. Mr Bradley
When we collaborate on-line we want
- to be treated respectfully and valued for what we have to share and the questions we need to ask
- to have age appropriate conversation and feel we are working in a safe environment
- be accountable to our group members when we commit to undertaking a task
- expect correct English to be used
- expect students and teachers to direct questions to appropriate people using agreed protocols eg @Mr Bradley
- place a real image for student recognition on Edmodo (students at PVPS have agreed that it is either a real image or one of the edmodo icons)
- The class will be on a 3 strikes rule (whole class)
- When the 3rd issue arises the whole class lose recess to litter picking
- The next level is whole class / whole lunch picking up litter
- All out of class conversation directed towards Edmodo and wiki. Any personal requests for facebook/ emails/meeting up etc passed through a teacher.
- Other teachers can be linked to Edmodo eg English teachers
- Badges to be awarded in Edmodo for good contribution, questions, support, mentoring etc. Small prizes to be awarded when teacher issues a badge. TBC on what level the prizes are. Letter sent home.
