What is it? Google Docs (now known as Google Drive) is a free, Web-based office suite and data storage service offered by Google. It allows users to create and edit documents online while collaborating in real-time with other users. Application in the Classroom: Students can create most documents that they would be able to in Microsoft office with one big difference - sharing. Once a student has created a document they can share it with the rest of the group. The document is not sent anywhere via email, the group are invited to be collaborators on the document. The one document is then worked on by all members while in different places. This really helped in out project as we had students working together across three schools. |
